  • Dynatup drop tower for impact studies; a high speed Kodak Ektapro camera, often utilized with a National Instruments image analysis system

  • A pendulum tester is also available for impact testing of adhesive bonds and other geometries.

  • Wilcoxon Research Model F17 piezoelectric vibration generator

  • High temperature Inert Environment Test Chamber/Frame capable of operating at 27 in. Hg vacuum to temperatures of 1,900˚C

  • Radiant 1,800˚C clam shell section furnace for ±20,000 lbs. test frame;

  • Convective 400˚F box section heater for ± 20,000 lbs. frame.

 

  • MTS hydraulic closed-loop axial (± 50,000 lbs.), torsional
    (± 20,000 in-lbs.) test system

  • (4) MTS hydraulic closed-loop axial test systems (± 20,000 lbs. capacity) with the capability to heat, cool, and simulate fire and submerged environments

  • MTS hydraulic closed-loop axial test systems (± 20,000 lbs. capacity) equipped with an hot/cold hydraulic grips and a hygrothermal chamber (-70°C to 180°C, 10% - 95% RH)

  • (2) Instron constant rate of elongation axial loading systems (± 20,000 lbs. capacity) equipped with an (Thermotron) environmental chamber;  conventional and computer-aided load, strain, fracture, and elongation measuring equipment

  • MTS thermo-mechanical tube testing servo-hydraulic load frame with 1,500 Hz/2,000 lb. superposed loading on 10,000 lb., 30 Hz:  tension and compression with 1,600˚C clam shell furnace

  • Fieldler Optoelektronik P-2S-50200 Laser Extensometer for noncontact strain measurements

  • ATS dead load machine & nine creep frames with 600˚F environmental chambers

  • Four-station, stepper motor controlled creep frame, and a 72-station pneumatic creep unit, all of which are equipped with ovens for elevated temperature testing
